Let 's talk about Mark Robinson and the politics of duplicity in America. As I going by my day today. Having a fantastic cup of coffee. I came across an article that really caught my attention. The National Review released an article entitled ' A Huge Story is about to drop on Mark Robinson ' .
I read the article. Although I was shocked I have never been very trustworthy of Mark Robinson. Even as a Christian conservative who is African American. You would think I would love Mark Robinson. But this is why I wrote this blog.
What happened? CNN did some serious investigative report and dug up some dirt on Mark Robinson. Let 's face it. The Hunter Biden laptop could of walked into the CNN news room before the last Presidential election in 2020 and it would of shown the door of the building escorted out by security.
But CNN dug up some verifying information that apparently and allegedly shows Mark Robinson's profile on an adult site saying some pretty disgusting stuff.
I am a black Nazi " One of the alleged quotes that Robinson espoused on the adult site. And let 's just say that might have been one of the tamest things that he said.
Black Nazi? That is really weird. And that is everything that I hate about the conservative movement. In particular black conservatives. We seem to be encouraged to not be normal. I point to Candace Owens another example of this. And this is not ok.
Mark Robinson Being Pressured To Resign From Governors Race
The latest evidence is Mark Robinson. This is not a healthy or winning recipe for the conservative movement. Robinson is being pressured to step down with the Gubernatorial election less than two months away. And the deadline to step down would be by 11:59 on Thursday. Or in other words about 8 hours after CNN dropped the bombshell report. And Two days after CNN contacted Mark Robinson with the alleged information. It sounds very much like a shake down. This is not news. This is a political hit on Mark Robinson. But we are grown ups and we are going to deal with it.
While this is being framed as Robinson knocking and old lady down crossing the street. Let's break this down in more detail.
Why is this important?
My Bottom Line : My bottom line is that this is a really bad look. And I don 't like it but I never liked Mark Robinson. However I cannot in good conscience not support him. This is why
Haven 't said that. Let 's me share why I hate that we are in this position as voters. And give a plea to both sides of the politics spectrum. Let 's clean up our politics.
My Prophetic Insight: This is what I see and feel with Mark Robinson. I see a man who professes to be a Christian in the public square and who has chosen to be in politics. I applaud him. but we as Christians must be in the world and not of the world. Don 't be like those conservatives or politicians in general who are abrasive and confrontational.
Yes I want you to be strong and to take on all comers. But I do not want you to be ungracious. Be more like JESUS. This is what the people said about JESUS when they met him.
Luke 4:22 Everyone spoke well of him and was amazed by the gracious words that came from his lips. “How can this be?” they asked. “Isn’t this Joseph’s son?”
As a Christian or as a politician. Surely everyone is not going to like you. But give them a reason to like you!
If you are not familiar with Mark Robinson. He is the Republican Lt. Governor of North Carolina and has is running for Governor this November against Democrat Josh Stein. Mark Robinson is known for his aggressive style of getting his point across. In my opinion it is much like the Chris Christie and Donald Trump. Choosing the hammer rather than the hug. And while that is great with the base it is not always great with the average voter.
But my problem with Mark Robinson is not just that. Because I do have a problem with that. I want to win elections and as a Christian I care about the character of the candidates that I support. You represent me. And I represent God.
But Mark Robinson just rubbed me the wrong way. I never was excited about his candidacy. And I always thought that he was the wrong person to represent the Republican party. I thought that he did not have the right demeanor.
Here is a man who is exposing Christian and conservative values with a frown on his face. I did not see how that represented God, me or the conservative movement. How does Robinson making outlandish statements and looking like a bully to his opponent's give me confidence in his ability to lead.
This is what I thought when I was first introduced to Robinson a few years ago as a new transplant to North Carolina politics in 2021. When my family moved here for a new life.
So when the story broke today minutes later after I read the National Review article about this September surprise from the Democrats. Asking Mark Robinson to step down from the campaign. This is not a huge shock. Because Mark Robinson never gave me confidence or made me excited as a Republican voter. To be frank I never liked him.
My Advice to Mark Robinson: To Mark Robinson and any Christians in the public square. Be careful not to allow your job , peers and ambition get in the way of your mission as a Christian. Your mission is to impact the lives of others by shining the light and love of JESUS CHRIST.
I have not seen this with Mark. Mark has been more like a political wrecking ball and a laughing stock. The butt of many jokes. As I see the the Democrat vehicle ads going through the city with Robinson 's face on it. They are making fun of him with the caricature that he created himself.
Colossians 4
2 Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful heart. 3 Pray for us, too, that God will give us many opportunities to speak about his mysterious plan concerning Christ. That is why I am here in chains. 4 Pray that I will proclaim this message as clearly as I should.
5 Live wisely among those who are not believers, and make the most of every opportunity. 6 Let your conversation be gracious and attractive so that you will have the right response for everyone. "
Like Trump Robinson is very easy to demonize. And I am not the type of person who falls for it. But I must say that I kind of agree on some of their points. Hard not to.
Many Americans did not want Donald Trump and Joe Biden to run in this upcoming election. I am one of those Americans. Many of us think that we are picking between the lesser of two evils in our upcoming Presidential election. Although chances are we think this for far different reasons we are all thinking the same thing.
And the addition to Kamala Harris to the Presidential race did not change this equation. It only reshuffled a very flawed deck of cards. Many voters still feel the same way. We will be voting for the person that I party chose to represent us. But we are not excited about it.
I believe this is because there is a great duplicity in our American politics. And if you know my philosophy. I am not a populace on this issue. I believe that this is the fault of the American people.
Let 's look closer at what is going on with Mark Robinson and I will make my case on this.
I hope as Christians, voters, and as Americans we can do a better job of cleaning up our political system. It needs to be more about the issues that are before our great country. Our political system needs to get back to serving the people. But this is all our fault. We allow both political parties to muddy the waters. We deserver the government and the leaders that we get.
But in this case. Let 's be fair and honest as well. As Americans we are not perfect. And we hold double standards. So I am going to take all of that into consideration. As I carefully consider how I feel about this bombshell report from CNN about Mark Robinson.
Being fair and using good judgement is also a very important Christian tenant. I will do that for Mark Robinson.
What do you think?
