Loving the Timing and Ministry of God More Than Your Timing and Ministry

The most effective ministers understand that loving the timing and ministry of God more than your timing and ministry is crucial. Being sensitive to the Spirit and leading of God is much more important than listening to your flesh or the Social media algorithm. 

The ministry of CHRIST to the minister is the Chief cornerstone in which the builders rejected. Don 't move so fast that you fall on your face. Stop and tie your shoes. Let God direct your path and give you instructions. 

Luke 22

31“Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift each of you like wheat. 32 But I have pleaded in prayer for you, Simon, that your faith should not fail. So when you have repented and turned to me again, strengthen your brothers.”

I have learned this the hard way. I give this knowledge and wisdom to you. I will show you how JESUS teaches this in his interaction with Mary and Martha the sisters of Lazarus later. 

We will discuss how this bad habit and sometimes sin causes problems like

• Destruction of our relationship with JESUS
• Weak and shallow relationships with God 
• Inability to reach as many people as you should
• Lack of impactful ministry 
• Preachers and Christians alike falling to sin and from grace

• Understand that is not where you start it is where you finish. Timing is everything. God 's timing is much much greater than yours
• God 's ministry is much much great than yours

What happens is after a while we fall more in love with the ministry than we are with God the minister. 

Don 't Worry God I Got It From Here

Don 't worry God I got it from here. Have you ever said that? Of course you have never said that. But you probably have done that in some way. I know I have many times and not realized it. 

Getting out of God 's way and allowing God to use us as his vessel can be difficult. 

This is very hard for many Christians because we want to stay true to the menu at your restaurant if you will and not deviate. You want to sing the song that you rehearsed and not go with the song that is in your heart. As Christians we want to dance to the tune that we know. Instead of the dancing to the tune that God put in your head. 

We build our churches so that we can make the people happy and not God. And we end up not making God or the people happy. 

In our churches we want to make sure that the people get out on time and that the sermon is just the right length. We have to follow the order of service. There is no room to listen to the leading of the HOLY SPIRIT. We must do it this way every time. Because our timing and ministry is much better than God 's. 

We are in charge of the service not God. God put us in charge and we will take it from there. He gave us the gift to preach, teach, sing, organize, impress people, and collect offerings. And we have the rest. 

The Key To Awesome Transforming Unique Ministry 

Is that not how we act sometimes? But we need to understand that while God will use us. And he will still move through us. We are missing the opportunity for explosive ministry without limits. We are putting handcuffs on God where he can only move like we want him to move. 

But also we are missing an important part of our relationship with God. The part where we seek him , we listen to him , we wait for him and we wait on him. We move as God moves and we understand who is in charge. 

As ministers of the Gospel is not I who preach but it God who preaches. It is not I who teach but is the HOLY SPRIT who teaches. It is not I who sings and touches the hearts of others but is JESUS that is moving on hearts and encourages. 

It is not I who has the right thing to say at the right time on social media. But is God who knows what everyone needs or who that one person who needs to see that post. 

It is not I who builds the ministry but it is JESUS CHRIST. I have learned that in life. You must love the timing and ministry of God more than your timing and ministry. 

I have to preach I have to teach I have to sing, I have to share that social media message. I have to blog and make spiritual content online. Whatever your ministry and your thing is . We all have been there. That feeling as if the world will stop and no one will get saved unless you make a move. That is not true. The truth is that JESUS shows us that timing is everything. 

JESUS Actions with Mary and Martha Show Timing is Everything in Ministry

When JESUS heard that his friend Lazarus was very sick. He waited for 6 days until he went and saw him. Two days later Lazarus died. And laid in his tomb dead for the other 4 days before JESUS showed up to Bethany to meet of Lazarus's sisters Mary and Martha. 

  And when you do things in God 's timing and not your timing spectacular and miraculous things will happen. 

How do pastors fall in their service to God? How do a lot of Christians fall in their service to God? Pastors and Christians alike fall by loving the ministry more than they love to minister to the king minister JESUS CHRIST ?

JESUS is Our Sustainer 

A Good Relationship with JESUS gives us

• Grace and Peace 
• Continual Progress 
• Finished Product of servitude and Faith
• Access to the HOLY SPIRIT which teaches us what we need to know
• Fellowship with the Saints where we learn and are cared for through prayer and other Biblical actions. We also learn about God and Understand about him and our journey 
• A Righteous character

Paul’s Thanksgiving and Prayer

3 Every time I think of you, I give thanks to my God. 4 Whenever I pray, I make my requests for all of you with joy, 5 for you have been my partners in spreading the Good News about Christ from the time you first heard it until now. 6 And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.

7 So it is right that I should feel as I do about all of you, for you have a special place in my heart. You share with me the special favor of God, both in my imprisonment and in defending and confirming the truth of the Good News. 8 God knows how much I love you and long for you with the tender compassion of Christ Jesus.

9 I pray that your love will overflow more and more, and that you will keep on growing in knowledge and understanding. 10 For I want you to understand what really matters, so that you may live pure and blameless lives until the day of Christ’s return. 11 May you always be filled with the fruit of your salvation—the righteous character produced in your life by Jesus Christ—for this will bring much glory and praise to God." 

Why Do Preachers and Ministers of CHRIST Fall? 

Because JESUS CHRIST is our High Priest. His Angels are ministering spirits. He will send his Angels to minister to us at his will according to our needs. So the HOLY SPIRIT ministers to us. Our most important relationship and service is to JESUS CHRIST. Not to the church or any person. So we should be careful to think that we have to do anything. Without first considering what God 's timing is. 

Are we properly ready to present ourselves for ministry. Or do we need to spend more time with God.

If we are not praying, fasting, or reading our Bible enough. We are going to depend on our flesh more than we depend on the HOLY SPIRIT. And that 's when we become open to fall into the devil's traps and schemes. Because we have not put on the full armor of God. 

We think that we are more important than anything on Earth or in heaven. We put ourselves in place. Look at what you are doing. You are very important to what God is doing. I have to be there. I have to do that. If I don 't preach, and if I don 't teach and if I don 't prophesy. It won 't get done. 

If I am not there at the church. Whatever needs to get done won 't get done. Everything is going to fall apart in my internet ministry. I have to keep posting for the algorithm so I get more views. Hello! 

 The problem is that we get so busy doing ministry that we forget about God the minister. We forget about the one that we are doing the ministry for. We do not cultivate our relationship with God. Because we are so caught up in the ministry that he gave us. 

The Ways Ministers Fall

• Spend to Much Time at Church
• Don 't Spend Enough Time with Family
• Fail to Ensure that their Faith is Solid 
• Need to have more life Balance and to Delegate more like Moses
• Get More Confident in Their Ability and Gift than the God who gave the Ability and the Gift  

 What’s the problem that we get so busy doing ministry that we forget about God the minister we forget about the one that we’re doing it for our relationship with God we are so caught up in the ministry that he gave us a lot of fall. And that’s why a lot of preachers fall. They forget about God the minister and that is Jesus Christ. Never forget about God. Spend time with God . We need to take time out to. seek God.

If we actually put God first, instead of putting the ministry first, God would show up so powerful. The problem is that people are too busy being focused on people instead of being focus on God. As a minister of the gospel the best thing that you can teach somebody else is to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit, and the Holy Spirit 100 times more than you follow a preacher or a church. Because the preacher and the church tare not the living water or the bread of life. They are only the people who say come and take a drink come and have a bite to eat good food it taste good . As honey to my belly .

Woman At the Well Learned To Depend on JESUS for the Amazing Outcome

 What is your gift? I bet you are so impressed with yourself. And that is good. I am so impressed with gift as well. We need that as ministers of the gospel. Because people will tear you down and the devil will tear you down. And surely the devil will send people to tear you down. So God gave us the blessed assurance that we are equipped for the ministry and he sent us out to minister to a dying world. Salute to you my friend. 

But we must never be so impressed by what we do that we try go go in our own strength. We will burn out and crash. The woman at the well was so impressed with her lineage and the ways of this world that she did not understand the spiritual significance of the person who she spoke to and what he could do for her. 

John 4

Jesus said to her, “Please give me a drink.” 8 He was alone at the time because his disciples had gone into the village to buy some food.

9 The woman was surprised, for Jews refuse to have anything to do with Samaritans. She said to Jesus, “You are a Jew, and I am a Samaritan woman. Why are you asking me for a drink?”

10 Jesus replied, “If you only knew the gift God has for you and who you are speaking to, you would ask me, and I would give you living water.”

11 “But sir, you don’t have a rope or a bucket,” she said, “and this well is very deep. Where would you get this living water? 12 And besides, do you think you’re greater than our ancestor Jacob, who gave us this well? How can you offer better water than he and his sons and his animals enjoyed?"

What she did not understand was by giving her faith, trust and life totally to JESUS that she would be made right, made knew , understand her purpose and be far more valuable. 

She decided to trust in JESUS. She could feel his anointing as they spoke. And suddenly her eyes were open. He is right I must decrease and he must increase in my life. I will ask him for water. 

13 Jesus replied, “Anyone who drinks this water will soon become thirsty again. 14 But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life.”

15 “Please, sir,” the woman said, “give me this water! Then I’ll never be thirsty again, and I won’t have to come here to get water.”

Are we not just as the women at the well? We think that we know what we are doing. Because it is all that we have always done. We go to the well every day or every Sunday and we minister to people. But our lives are so messed up. Or our lives are not complete. Our lives need work or our lives need maintenance. 

And only when we open our eyes to who JESUS is in our life. Our sustainer, our rock, our foundation, our fortress, our teacher, our master, and the lover of our soul. Can we find our true purpose and identity as ministers of CHRIST. And JESUS can take the ordinary and make it extraordinary. Like he did in this woman's life. He taught her how to be right with God and how to transform her life. Then he gave her a peak into the future that no one else could. Taught her how to truly worship God. 

JESUS gave the women at the well who gave up her identity and will for his 

• Righteous Life 
• Transformed life
• Prophetic Vision of future events 
• A great Evangelism ministry ... Her ministry was popping 
• Great Fulfillment that she never Had

We should never think that we know better than God. Because my Pastor or my church is just the thing. Like Jacob was the thing for the woman at the well. She bragged on Jacob like JESUS was chop liver. But Jacob came from JESUS. And Jacob was nothing compared to JESUS and Jacob was nothing without JESUS.

Get in the timing and ministry of God more than your timing and your ministry. And you will see the spectacular. 

Also what JESUS did was outside of the church orthodoxy. One of the things that was very effective for JESUS is that he did what his Father in heaven told him to do. He was led by the HOLY SPIRIT not by the ways of man. According to the Jewish traditions he should of never talked to this woman. 

And he himself had not yet informed the future Apostle Peter in the book of Acts to along with the future church to spread the gospel to the Gentiles. 

But JESUS was on God 's timing and doing God 's ministry perfectly!!! He spoke to this Samaritan woman even though Jews do not have dealings with these people look down upon them. So snarky she says back to him. Why are you even talking to me? You want some water get it yourself. 

Imagine if you are a Conservative and you see a liberal and they say hey give me some water. Or vice versa. You would think you don't even like me. You get it yourself you big shot. 

But she felt the goodness in JESUS. And she listened to him. She was in awe that he would engage with her and intrigued with what he had to say. She was so looking for , wanting and needing a better life. Not the same ole same ole. And JESUS gave her the spectacular experience and fireworks only falling the HOLY SPIRIT can give.  

What the woman at the well did not say. Is my Pastor told me that there is no one greater than Jacob. My church does not believe in anything other than that. She was led by the Spirit , timing and ministry of God! She put down her feelings and emotions and allowed JESUS to take the lead. 

So my fellow Saints. Don 't fall in love with your timing and your ministry. Fall in love with the timing and ministry of God. Lazarus and the woman at the Well will tell you. God 's timing and ministry is much better than ours!!!!
